The sights and sounds of the season surround us. Lights twinkle, bells jingle and shoppers bustle back and forth, ready to take advantage of last-minute sales.
We heard that Santa’s making a list and checking it twice, so just in time for Christmas, we decided to make a list of our own (We’ve all been very nice this year. Just ask any of us!).
Without further ado, we present to you our Awe Star Missions 2018 Christmas list:
—Leaders: more servant leaders to serve our teams.
—Students: more student missionaries to fill every team and trip.
—Worship Leaders: to travel with us and use their gifts to bless students and nationals.
—Photographers/Videographers: We have many needs on the field for those with these gifts and skills.
—Medical Professionals: We've heard some amazing stories of how God has brought medical professionals to join our planned trips for 2019. But we long for more of those with gifts and training in the medical field to partner with us. Medical teams can often go where others can't. Will God use you to help make a way?
—Breaking Borders: Our desire to reach the final frontiers of lostness and push back the darkness grows stronger day by day. We'd love to go where others don't. Because we can. Because He calls us. Because they need to know.
—Divine Encounters: As we move in ministry here and overseas, we ask the Lord to arrange Divine Encounters, where a Seeking Soul meets a Willing Witness.
—Salvation: the promised result of Divine Encounters. We’d love to see God use us to bring more people to a saving knowledge of Him.
—Prayer Partners: those committed to holding our needs before Him every day.
—Donors: those who would give of their time, talent and treasure to sow into the kingdom. We need financial donations, of course (we’re a 501(c)3, so every gift is tax deductible). But we could also use donations of labor (to finish the renovations to the office and possibly provide the resources for those renovations); donations of drama tools, medical supplies, tools and other equipment for use at home and on the field (ask us if you need more specifics); donations of vehicles (we could use another van and trailer; more materials = multiplied ministry).
—Staff Members: We’re a small team with a big task (if you’re not sure what it is, see Matt. 28:19-20). We especially want to build our intern and associate program, so if you or someone you know is interested in coming alongside us, please give us a call at 1-800-AWE-STAR.
—Growth: Our vision for 2019 is that God would grow us in number, strength and spiritual depth. Paul says it best: “that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God” (Eph. 3:16-19, ESV). We are praying this for you, and we ask that you pray it for us as well.
We hope you’ll allow God to use our list as a heart-mover, a prayer-prompter and even a spirit-nudger. What are the odds that He might lead you to fulfill one or more of the items given above? You know the answer. With Jesus, they’re always 100 percent!
