It’s no surprise that our students had battles yesterday after an incredible evening of revival. We wish you could have been there! You can get a glimpse on the Awe Star facebook page.
Team Luz experienced victory over the battles yesterday. God moved in amazing ways and unexpected places. The students were encouraged at the beginning of the day to make their vans a sanctuary as they traveled from site to site and what a sanctuary it became! As one van full of young ladies traveled between drama sites, they claimed victory. There was true healing as they shared and affirmed each other, speaking truths into each others lives. They encouraged, prayed for, built each other up. While not in the vans, Team Luz went to various plazas. As we walked from the vans to each plaza we prayed that God would send others to the exact place at the exact time for a divine appointment. The first plaza we went to was very close to the border so there were many people walking around, going from place to place. We had asked our point person to take us to a specific plaza, but realized something was lost in translation and the plaza we were at was different than our plan. But it was not different from God’s plan. One of our team members began engaging with a mother and her two children (2 and 8). She came closer and watched the drama. Afterwards we shared the gospel with her and heard more of her story. She is actually from Honduras and is here in Nuevo Laredo seeking asylum. She has filed all her paperwork but is waiting for the processing of it. The night before we met her she decided when she woke up she would have to decide what she would do. She would either give up and go back or try harder to do something here. They are staying in a shelter right now but the conditions are not very good. So the day she was deciding what she would do is when our paths crossed with her. She was very moved by the gospel and accepted Christ. She has a newfound hope in Christ. Now she knows that God is with her and she will not be forsaken. God had this appointment in mind since the beginning. We got to show the love of God to this mother and give her hope for her family. Now we and the church here in Nuevo Laredo can continue praying with her that God would bring her to the right place to live and raise up her children. Meanwhile, in another area of Nuevo Laredo, Team Sal continued to proclaim victory in a plaza where many people had gathered together to celebrate the holidays. The team pushed back darkness and we not only experienced people who didn’t believe the same as us, but also saw the hand of God move and many eagerly accepted Christ to be Lord of their lives. From children in orphanages to people celebrating in the plaza, God drew people near to Him and brought them from death to life! After completing our evening, we felt led to share the gospel to a worker in the parking lot where our vans were parked. We had met him when we arrived and our hearts were burdened for him. When we arrived there were only two people in the lot, but soon it grew to eight people. We performed the drama for them. As the drama played out, tears formed in their eyes and each one of them surrendered their life to Christ. All lives matter to God whether it it 1, 8, or 100. Gloria a Dios! Last night, there was another amazing outpouring of praise and worship as the students returned to their knees in worship. Our students have truly experienced the hand of God this week. Worship has truly made us stronger. Our song that has become our battle cry summed up our day perfectly... Fighting battles Even when it may look like we're surrounded We're surrounded by Him. The thing about the battle here in Mexico, is Christ has already proclaimed victory over them. Yesterday was simply another great day witnessing students taking on this same victory over their own battles through worship, sharing with one another and sharing the Gospel.
