WALKER – President/Founder of Awe Star Ministries
For over thirty-five years, Walker has challenged students to follow the will and the Word of God as they embrace the lifestyle of a missionary. He and his wife Cathy (the most beautiful woman in the world) have two adult sons, Jeremiah and Caleb.

Walker’s popular “Rite of Passage Parenting” column has appeared weekly in the Oklahoma Baptist Messenger for the past ten years. He is also the author of Rite of Passage Parenting: Four Essential Experiences to Equip Your Kids for Life (book and workbook, Nelson Books, 2007). The deep desire of his heart is to raise up the last missionary who will usher in the return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
 
CATHY – Chief Financial Officer
As CFO, Cathy is the glue that holds our office together. She manages all of the finances, budgeting, donations, and everything else that flows through Awe Star. She takes care of all of the staff, making sure they have all of the materials they need. She asks the tough questions that keep each of us on top of our game. She is wife to Walker and mother to Jeremiah and Caleb.
 
Brent – VP of International Operations

Brent, an Indiana native and graduate of Purdue University, is married to the lovely Deanna. As our Vice President for International Operations, he interacts with missionaries, nationals, and team leadership to put details in place months before a trip occurs. He has a heartbeat for missions and a passion for students, with whom he has worked for nearly twenty years.

The Higgins are the parents of Lauren, Whitney, and Brent, Jr. (BJ), who gave his life for Christ at age fifteen after serving his second summer in Peru with Awe Star. BJ’s life, ministry and message are set forth in the Higgins’ book, I Would Die for You: One Student’s Story of Passion, Service and Faith (Revell, 2008).

 
Matt- Director of Multimedia

Matt came to our ministry from his hometown of Augusta, Georgia after serving on Awe Star teams in both Mexico and Peru. Currently a student at Tulsa Community College, he works in our multimedia area to assist us with web site, software and other technical issues. Matt enjoys skiing, backpacking and ministering to students as they take the Gospel to the nations. When he can, Matt also loves to spend time with his parents and younger sister, who now live in Forest, Virginia.


 
KATIE – Director of Student Care

Katie’s position as Director of Student Care allows her to express her passion for missions and for building relationships with students. A college student and native of Piedmont, Oklahoma;  Katie loves spending time with her family, exploring great books and music, and helping people draw closer to Jesus Christ. If you have a question about how or where God can use you or if you need information on travel, fundraising, or other aspects of your mission trip, check with Katie. She’ll be glad to assist you!

 
MARTI - Director of Prayer/Publication
Marti (who serves Awe Star from her home in Florida) is wife to Tom, a worship pastor; and mother of Kristen, Katherine, Andrew, Karissa and Melanie. God has called her to assist us in developing and coordinating the prayer aspect of our ministry. She covers our staff and students in prayer while working to involve others in intercession as we carry out the ministry of Jesus Christ. Marti also writes, edits and oversees publication for many of our printed and online materials.
 
LUCILE -THE LEGACY

Fifteen years ago, Lucile helped Walker's vision become reality by partnering with him to found Awe Star Ministries. This retired schoolteacher served as grandmother, grace depositor and resident encourager to the Moore boys and to all Awe Star missionaries. In September 2007, Lucile went home to be with the Lord and Savior she served for so many years. Her legacy of giving, serving and praying so that others might go lives on throughout her Awe Star family.

 
Natalie – Publishing Coordinator – Rite of Passage Parenting
Natalie joins our team to serve as the Publishing Coordinator for the Rite of Passage side of Awe Star Ministries. She and her husband, Scott, have two children, Mitch and Allison. Natalie combines her parenting experiences with her passion for missions to coordinate publicity, marketing, and media for Rite of Passage Parenting: Four Essential Experiences to Equip Your Kids for Life by Walker Moore. Natalie, a graduate of the Southwestern Oklahoma State University School of Pharmacy, is also involved in her church, Parkview Baptist, as Director of the Mission Action Team.
 

Carol – Administrative Assistant

Carol manages Walker’s busy calendar, answers the phones and willingly helps withwhatever it takes to help missionaries reach the field.  She has a passion for missions, for the youngpeople she has served at church for years, and for seeing people everywhere come to know the Lord. She has also had the privilege of seeing all her family serve alongside her in mission efforts. Carol is the wife of Skip, mother of David and Gerri, “mother-in-love” of Jenny and grandmother to precious blessings Brayden and Kaylee.

 

Emily – Director of Mobilization

Emily's role on the Awe Star staff follows her graduation from Rogers State University in Claremore and employment in the field of medical sales. As a student, she traveled with Awe Star to Mexico and Australia. She has also participated in many other mission trips. Emily works to inform others about our ministry, inviting them to serve alongside us as He directs. She also travels and trains church groups in Awe Star's method of chronological Bible storying through the performing arts. She and her fiancé, Lucas Shearer, share a passion for missions and ministering to students.
