Awe Star Ministries

Final day of ministry and God’s glory

The team was up early and at 7:15 headed to the city of Colon. We experience the poor and down trodden as we present the gospel over an over until 7:30PM. Colon is a seaport town about an hour and half away from Panama City. There God gave us an incredible annoiting as student after student shared the gospel with power. We site we had to do a hit and run because we were getting behind scheduleand the Govenor of Colon came to met us. We just presented the drama with no introduction or music and 28 came to Christ! We presented a gospel to a juvenile detenion center and ended up on the a mountain top presenting the last drama. Tomorrow up at 4:00 leave Panama City at 5:00 and catch our 8:00AM flight to Atlanta. Thank you for your prayers and we can’t wait to tell you what great things God has done!

Lots of pictures are now up!

Today we just returned from the Kuna village Icandi. When Warren started their work there only a few believers could be found. Now that the church is one year and six months old many are coming to Christ. When we first came we were strange to them but now we are brother and sisters in Christ. The pictures will tell you the story of what God did in the village. Today the team went shopping so we can go to the city of Colon tomorrow where we will be presenting the gospel in a juvenile detenion center and a womens prision. The team is doing well and will cross the finish line strong. It is hard to believe that on Sunday they will be back in forever changed. Thank you Warren for sending a top notch group of missionaries.

From the Jungle to Eternity!!!

We just received word from Walker that the team has safely returned from the jungle!!! God has done an amazing work through the obedience of the team. They will post an update tonight, but wanted you all to know this great news! Check back later for their update and pictures!!!

More Pictures and a short note

Today, we walked in power. The students are begining to learn how to “capture” a sight with prayer and praise. Today we saw a policeman come to the Lord and a gang member. We worked in a food kitchen for hungry chldren and saw a mouse run across our feet while using the restroom. We saw men weep as they gave their heart to Christ and we saw throngs of children praying out loud the sinner prayers. It has been an incredible day. Every one is healthy and excited about heading to the jungle tomorrow. We leave a 6:00am and head to the village of Icandi. We will not be able to post until Friday evening. Pray for a safe trip pray that we will have a dry trip in the jungle. Pray for God to prepare the heart of the Kuna’s. Pray that we learn more about how to walk in God’s power ….PRAY!
your servant,
Walker
PS: Look at the joy on our missionaries faces!

Fantastic Day

We are having internet problems but today we did four school assemblies and one street presentation. In each school many students responded to the good news! At one school the principal ask if we would have a special praying meeting for her. Tomorrow the entire country is planning to have a teacher strike. We are seeking God in how we can best minister during these troubling days. One of the things that we are going to do tomorrow is to feed homeless children who lives in the slums. On Wednesday morning we will leave for the jungles and return Friday afternoon. While we are in the jungle village we will not have internet access. The students are doing well, they are excited about what God is doing through each and every one of them. Continue to pray for divine encounters.

More Pictures are up!

What a day!
We started out with a hearty breakfast and then we had an incredible morning of fellowship and worshiping with the La Communidad fellowship. Even though it is a small congregation they made each team member feels special and loved. Then we join the church to eat pizza, fellowship and watch the final of the World Soccer Cup. The restaurant couldn’t hold all of the Warren group so some of the girls chose to go shopping. After the game the church went with us to witness on Cinco de Mayo the main pedestrian street in all of Panama. We presented the gospel twice and the Spirit of God fell up the team and many came to Christ with tears in their eyes, even whole families came to Christ. At dinner tonight everyone kept sharing the stories of what happened to them today. Tonight they are trying to call home and get their rest because the next two day we are moving into the poorest part of Panama, the slums called the Racatacas! Pray for the team that God would send many seeking souls. Pray that team will be healthy the entire week. Pray for the church planters that we are serving with. Pray for us because we are praying for you…
Your servant,

WE Arrived!

The team has arrived safetly in Panama. This morning we had breakfast and join La Communidad for church. The first teaching was on the first two things we know about Jesus in Luke 2. The second lesson was how important our testimony is. This afternoon we are going join the Panamain in watching the World Cup and then head to the streets to present the gospel. WE will have more updates this evening!

Pre-Trip Instructions

Welcome to the Awe Star Ministries Trip Updates! This page will give you an inside scoop on the great things God is doing in and through our team in Peru. Here, Team Leaders will post frequent updates via text and pictures. You can access the text updates on this page and view trip pictures by clicking the “pictures” tab located at the top of the page. In the updates, you will read stories of salvation, revival and other ways God is changing lives. You will see pictures of students ministering, studying and fellowshipping with team members and the people of Peru.

Our Trip Updates have a new format this year. Here’s how it works:

TEXT: View text updates immediately above this note. The most recent updates appear at the top in order of their posting (generally by date).

PHOTOS: View photo updates by clicking on the “Pictures” tab at the top of the page. Pictures will be posted in this area as well as pictures being embedded into the text updates. Please download and utilize the pictures freely to encourage others to pray. Mom and Dad: we strive to include as many students as possible in our photos, but please do not be alarmed if your student does not appear daily. Keep watching! Also, on the left hand side of our page, you will see some of our most recent photos, but to view them all, be sure to click the “Pictures” tab at the top of the page.

PATIENCE, PLEASE (IMPORTANT!): Internet access in international locations can be inconsistent, and our busy travel/ministry schedule sometimes keeps us from posting and/or loading new photos. When you don’t see an update, please keep praying and know that we are doing our best to stay in touch!

COMMENTS: This vital feature allows parents, friends, pastors and other supporters to leave comments on the posts. Comments remind the leadership and team of your love, support and especially of your prayers on their behalf. To leave a comment, simply click the title of the post next to the date. This will lead you to the specific post’s page where you can comment at the bottom. A page will open that allows you to leave yours. Please keep all comments:

1. Respectful and upbeat: Anything else has the potential to detract from our important work.

2. Appropriate: All comments will be reviewed by Awe Star staff or leadership before they appear. This prevents spam or other potential problems for our missionaries.

QUESTIONS: If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at kenny@awestar.org. You can also call the Awe Star Ministries office at (918)664-3500.

We are so grateful for the many ways you have already supported this group of student missionaries. Bathed in prayer, they will do incredible things for our Creator. They will return with many stories of the ways God touched hearts and changed lives—including their own.
