Back from the village

June 13th, 2009 aweedit 4 comments

Today the students arrived back from the Kuna village Icandi. We can’t tell you enough about the great things God has done. This afternoon we will be shopping and finishing out a time of testimony. Tomorrow back to August…oh, how much we would like to spend more time here. Everyone is safe, happy and blessed for the time they have been given to serve our Lord…

Thank you Warren Baptist for investing in the Kingdom in Panama

Another God filled day

June 9th, 2009 aweedit 4 comments

Hola from Panama,

Today we presented our drama in two schools Reina Torres De Arauz and Loma Bonita. Your students were amazing as they adapted to the different settings where the drama was set. The elementary school students were fascinated with the dragon, their squeals of fear and delight could be heard all over the school, but the neatest thing was to see their faces as they realized what was happening during the crucifixion. Now I completely understand what the Bible means when describing we must come as a little child. We then presented the drama in a park to local teens, which was a challenge as it is always difficult for teens to let their guard down in front of their peers. Once again as the crucifixion scene captivated their hearts they too were drawn to the Lord. Neither rain, nor heat, nor iguana, nor the devil can stop these students from carrying out the Lord’s will.

Love,

Nancy and Karen

God is at work!

Wow what a day!

God was so good!

Y’all would be so proud of your students!

We had the awesome privilege of attending a Spanish / English worship service this morning. After that we enjoyed great fellowship with many of the Panamanian church people! Ahh… love that PB&J!

After that we hit the town commercial center on “Cinco de Mayo” street! We went through the drama 3 times today, once at the church and twice on the streets! It was such an honor to serve alongside with your students, as well as the GREATEST NEWS IS THAT WE HAD 37 COME TO KNOW CHRIST TODAY!

Everyone is well and all have definitely proved themselves as great stewards for the kingdom! We’ve gotten to not only have some great moments of ministry, but great times to bond as a team!

Today we’re heading off to minister in 4 public schools in their main assembly times. Please pray for God’s AWEsome power and provision in our ventures!

We’re looking forward!

God bless!

Good morning Sunday in Panama

June 7th, 2009 aweedit 15 comments

Praise the Lord for wonderful sleep, we are rested, eager and excited to see Him working through us today.  We have already packed out of the hotel and have been shopping for lots of bread and peanut butter.  We are preparing to worship now and then we will hit the streets.  Please continue to pray for us and the people of Panama.  We are going to Cinco De Mayo Street to perform our drama, pray we will see those the Lord is calling and the message we present will be clear.  Your students are healthy happy and strong, I am proud to be with them, I cannot get this silly grin off of my face.

May the Lord bless you this day,

Karen

We are here!

Wow what a great day it has been so far!

Atlanta to Miami, Miami to Panama, and now we have arrived at our destination for the night!

The favor of the Lord has greatly been with us!

We met right up with Walker and our team leaders for the week at the airport, and everything has gone off without a hitch thus far!

We are going to perform our gospel presentation drama tomorrow morning at a local church, Communidad Iglesia.  After that we will be heading to the main street of Panama and performing the drama and eagerly seeking what great things the Lord will do there!

Pray for the Lord of the harvest and that souls will be touched and prompted to find out and know the loving power of our living God!

Everyone is doing great!  Praise the Lord for such a GOoD day!

Dear Warren Baptist Church,

What a joy it is to once again to partner with you in planting churches across the world. I am looking forward to seeing what God is going to do through us as we minister in Panama. Warren Baptist has some of the finest youth and sponsors that I have ever had the privelge of working with. As they say in Spanish…Hasta Sabado!

Pre-Trip Instructions

June 1st, 2009 admin No comments

Welcome to the Awe Star Ministries Trip Updates! This page will give you an inside scoop on the great things God is doing in and through our team in Pamana. Here, Team Leaders will post frequent updates via text and pictures. You can access the text updates on this page and view trip pictures by clicking the “pictures” tab located at the top of the page. In the updates, you will read stories of salvation, revival and other ways God is changing lives. You will see pictures of students ministering, studying and fellowshipping with team members and the people of Panama.

Our Trip Updates have a new format this year. Here’s how it works:

TEXT: View text updates immediately below this note. The most recent updates appear at the top in order of their posting (generally by date).

PHOTOS: View photo updates by clicking on the “photo” tab at the top of the page. Pictures will be posted in this area as well as pictures being embedded into the text updates. Please download and utilize the pictures freely to encourage others to pray. Mom and Dad: we strive to include as many students as possible in our photos, but please do not be alarmed if your student does not appear daily. Keep watching!

PATIENCE, PLEASE (IMPORTANT!): Internet access in international locations can be inconsistent, and our busy travel/ministry schedule sometimes keeps us from posting and/or loading new photos. When you don’t see an update, please keep praying and know that we are doing our best to stay in touch!

COMMENTS: This vital feature allows parents, friends, pastors and other supporters to leave comments on the posts. Comments remind the leadership and team of your love, support and especially of your prayers on their behalf. To leave a comment, simply click the link below each post that shows the number of comments. A page will open that allows you to leave yours. Please keep all comments:

1. Respectful and upbeat: Anything else has the potential to detract from our important work. Please note that messages addressed to students in the comments may not be able to be passed on.

2. Appropriate: All comments will be reviewed by Awe Star staff or leadership before they appear. This prevents spam or other potential problems for our missionaries.

QUESTIONS: If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at kenny@awestar.org. You can also call the Awe Star Ministries office at (918)664-3500.

We are so grateful for the many ways you have already supported this group of student missionaries. Bathed in prayer, they will do incredible things for our Creator. They will return with many stories of the ways God touched hearts and changed lives—including their own.
