New Pictures are up!!

We just added some new pictures. . . more will come later tonight.

Praise the Lord! 1000+

The Spirit of God has really been working here. We started today in Djorodougou, preforming for a small group who had gathered in from their early morning activities. By the time the drama was finished a crowd of almost half the village was watching. 23 of those people were saved, God be praised. Then it was straight to the bus for the 3 and a half hour ride to Yamoussoukro. After a quick lunch of pizza, real pizza, we were off to a local high school. Many of the kids spoke English, and the music we played brought in multitudes from the nearby street. After the drama 200+ people, students and adults both, came forward and accepted Christ. It was truly amazing, and we weren’t done yet. Our next stop was on the far end of an hour and half drive to a Baoule village. The majority of the village, somewhere around 150 new believers found Christ. This day of God’s grace has ended with a wonderful meal of tilapia and pineapple at Pastor Ebele’s house. It was good enough to make me feel sorry for the people back in Jonesboro who didn’t get to try it. There’s been some problems with the Internet here, so we’ll try to post pictures tomorrow when we get to Abidjan.

Salvation Comes to the Koro!

Ladies and Gentlemen:

Never have I been so proud of a team sent from CBC as I am of this team that has gone to the Koro. Under very hot, humid temps in West Africa and without water and electricity most of the time they have been faithful. Three hard days.

Up to yesterday there were 650 souls saved, with only 60 being some other people group than Koro. Here is Bill Panneck’s text from this morning reflecting on yesterday and early this morning:

“Last 2 nights only 3 hours sleep! Things are very difficult w/0 water!. The electricity came on last night, let us sleep, but off again this morn! Great display of God’s might at T. last night – 50 professions of faith! We didn’t even start the drama there until 10:00 p.m. Those new believers let us video them and get their names!  Doing drama this am in Discovery at &;00 a.m. (no water or electricity to get ready –ladies had to use drinking water to wash dishes and clearn) Then on to Y!

___

Friday a.m. Still no water or electricity. Team did great job packing and eating w/o lights or water!  Team did drama @ 7:00 a.m in village while Eric Brown and I closed down house. 23 solid salvations confirmed in village of Discovery.  Makes 730 for week. Now on road to Yamassoukro – drama 2 times there today!  Pray that in our weakness/ tiredness/no showers in 2 days – God will be glorified and many will come to Christ.”– Bill Panneck

Guys and gals, this is a dream fulfilled for me to see a chairman of deacons this dedicated in missions. Way to go, Team, and  I shout, “Praise be to God!!!!!!!!!”

LOST–or Not

We received a text message from the team. They were trying to go to a certain village and somehow got “lost.”

In doing so they ran across an unknown village and greeted the Totokaha people who lived there. They quickly found out that this village was not an Islamic people group but rather animistic (they believe in spirits that inhabit natural objects). The team ended up performing the drama for them and 50 people prayed to receive the Lord!

What were the odds of them getting lost?! You know the answer: 100 percent!!!

As more people arrived the team was asked to perform the drama again.  Eighteen minutes later, another 10 prayed to receive Christ!

The whole team is healthy and growing in the Lord.  They are all very excited that God is using them in such amazing ways!  Please pray that divine encounters will continue to be set up.  Pray that the team will have enough electricity to continue to have water.  Pray for God to continue to work in and among the Koro people.  Pray for the two Muslim interpreters  the team is using! Pray, Pray, Pray!!!

***Later that day***

A Note From Aaron

We Are Here! After nearly 6 months of preparation, $60,000, prayer, training, and a movement from God…We Are Here.

In the morning we will wake up at 5am, eat breakfast, have our quiet time, and hit the road for Babadogu. The journey should take us about 7-8 hours, and our goal is to present the gospel drama tomorrow night in the village before sunfall.

Updates will be slim while we are in the village. Please continue to pray for us and pray for the team as we penetrate the Koro people with the gospel. As you read our updates, please feel free to send us a little note. We would love to hear from you!

The Team is HERE!

The plane was on time! Every piece of luggage came through and as soon the team got on the bus, Bamba shared about how he came to Christ through Central’s ministry. Tonight, the team is eating pizza followed by a Bible study and then bed.

We continue to covet your prayers as we leave at seven in the morning to head upcountry. Pray for a safe trip, pray for good health, and pray for the salvation of the Koros.

Your servant,

Walker

What a Pair!

Dear Central Family,

Eric and I have spent the past two days setting up the trip for the team. You couldn’t find a more God-paired team than we are. What I have forgotten, Eric has. What Eric has forgotten, I have. It has been this way since we arrived. It came to a head last night when we took our driver/translator Bamba and his family out for the Ivory Coast version of KFC, Castle Fried Chicken. Eric prefers dark meat and I like white. So when they brought the plates, we traded and ate, praising God for His goodness.

Everything is set for the team. This morning we are going to be hanging out with Tajahnee, Bamba’s Muslim friend. Pray that God will give us relationships on which the gospel can travel. Pray that all the luggage will arrive and get through customs without any hassles. Pray for the team to have great rest tonight. Pray for the journey upcountry. Pray for the salvation of everyone who hears the good news. And thank you again for the privilege of serving alongside Central.

Your servant,

Walker

P.S. God has already answered one prayer. Bamba wants Aaron and me to baptize him this week.

AWE & EXPECT!

Awe . . . that word describes how I feel as I have the privilege and honor to serve alongside Central. Through this relationship I have met some of the most awesome people who love Jesus and want to see salvation come to the nations. I stand with a sense of awe to join you one more time.

God has put another word on my heart . . . expect. He has spoken to me to expect great things from Him. Expect salvation to come to the Koros. Expect my Spirit to go before and be upon you. Expect miracles to happen. Expect lives to be changed. Expect difficulties. Expect solutions. Expect the body of Christ to hold the ropes in prayer while the journey is being made. Expect strength that only He can give. Expect. Expect your heart to be broken for the lost. Expect new and exciting relationships. Expect victory!

“But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice. Yes, and I will continue to rejoice, for I know that through your prayers and the help given by the Spirit of Jesus Christ, what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance. I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:18-21).

As you pray in awe of our Father, expect Him to do great things. Thanks  for the privilege of serving alongside you once more.

Your servant,

Walker Moore

Pre-Trip Instructions

Welcome to the Awe Star Ministries Trip Updates! This page will give you an inside scoop on the great things God is doing in and through our team in Ivory Coast. Here, Team Leaders will try to post updates via text and pictures. You can access the text updates on this page and view trip pictures by clicking the “pictures” tab located at the top of the page. In the updates, you will read stories of how  God is changing lives.

Here’s how it works:

TEXT: View text updates immediately above this note. The most recent updates appear at the top in order of their posting (generally by date).

PHOTOS: View photo updates by clicking on the “Pictures” tab at the top of the page. Pictures will be posted in this area as well as pictures being embedded into the text updates. Please download and utilize the pictures freely to encourage others to pray. Mom and Dad: we strive to include as many students as possible in our photos, but please do not be alarmed if your student does not appear.  Due to the remoteness of the location, if we receive any pictures, it will be a huge blessing. Keep watching! Also, on the left hand side of our page, you will see some of our most recent photos, but to view them all, be sure to click the “Pictures” tab at the top of the page.

PATIENCE, PLEASE (IMPORTANT!): Internet access in international locations can be inconsistent, and our busy travel/ministry schedule sometimes keeps us from posting and/or loading new photos. When you don’t see an update, please keep praying and know that we are doing our best to stay in touch!

COMMENTS: This vital feature allows parents, friends, pastors and other supporters to leave comments on the posts. Comments remind the leadership and team of your love, support and especially of your prayers on their behalf. To leave a comment, simply click the title of the post next to the date. This will lead you to the specific post’s page where you can comment at the bottom. A page will open that allows you to leave yours. Please keep all comments:

1. Respectful and upbeat: Anything else has the potential to detract from our important work.

2. Appropriate: All comments will be reviewed by Awe Star staff or leadership before they appear. This prevents spam or other potential problems for our missionaries.

QUESTIONS: If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me at kenny@awestar.org. You can also call the Awe Star Ministries office at (918)664-3500.

We are so grateful for the many ways you have already supported this group of student missionaries. Bathed in prayer, they will do incredible things for our Creator. They will return with many stories of the ways God touched hearts and changed lives—including their own.
