Awe Star Ministries

A New Chapter

Today we had a relaxing start. After breakfast we came back to the hotel and finished packing. We then went and talked to the lady from last night. We had a great visit with her. She accepted Christ into her life. Please continue to pray for her. She has many questions about the Bible and faith, Marco gave her the address of his church so they can disciple her.

We then loaded up and came to Tito’s house for lunch. For lunch some people had guinea pig for the first time. We then went to the church for our last time to minister here. It went very well, they were sad we had to leave.

We came back to Trujillo ate Chicken’s King and we are now waiting to get on the bus to start the trip home. Please pray that even though we are starting our trip home that we dont stop looking for what God is wanting us to do. Also pray that we dont look at this as a mission trip but a way of life. We look forward to returning home and telling you about the amazing things that God is doing here in Peru and in our lives.

Independence Day!

Good evening! We had such a good day. Today was their Independence Day so today we took the morning and had some free time. This morning after breakfast we went to visit some of the ruins around Trujillo. It was great to experence the culture. We came back to the hotel to get ready for our ministries this afternoon and have lunch.

We then went to the beach. It is amazing to stand on the beach and look out over the ocean and think about the fact that the same God that spoke and made the seas, also created us. He not only created us but desires to have a personal relationship with us. As we were at the beach we had a chance to talk to the door man on our van. As we shared with him he knew all the answers but he wasnt ready to accept Christ. Please pray for him that God will move in his heart.

This afternoon we had all three ministries again today. It was another great day. In the youth ministriy today they had more Salvations! The women’s and VBS had less people today due to the Independence day, however God placed all those people there for a reason.

In the evening service Jase and Gerri shared their testimonies. Mike lead the service and talked about how to free ourselves from the bondage of sin. That was our last evening to do Crusades here in Peru. It’s hard to believe that our trip is almost over. Tomorrow is our last day to do the ministries then we start our trip home.

Please continue to pray for us. As even as we are preparing to return God is still moving. Even tonight as we were doing our devotion a lady came up to us and asked for a Bible and asked us what we believed and began to ask us questions. We told her to read through the book of John tonight and tomorrow she can ask us any questions she wants.

Please pray for her and the door man as tomorrow is the last day to talk to them. Please pray for us to finish strong and have a safe trip home.

Answered Prayers!

On Monday it was our last day in Alto Trujillo. In the morning we went to visit some of the people that have visited the church. As we were visiting the houses it really broke our hearts to see some of these people’s houses. The team noticed how blessed we truly are. We came across many houses that were made out of nothing but cardboard. Many of the houses were even still in construction.

That afternoon we returned to have VBS, Women’s minisrty, and the youth. What an answer to prayers! The youth had an amazing time they had 4 Salvations!!!!!!!! God really moved in all the ministries! What a blessing.

That evening we had our last service in Alto Trujillo. It was bitter sweet, we were sad to leave but we were rejoicing because some of the people that we had visited that came came to the service that evening and accepted Christ into their lives! What a joy it was to worship with them. You could feel God all around you in that service.

When we returned to our hotel we spent some time in worship together. What a great way to keep the group close together then a good time of worship. We then headed to bed.

This morning we woke up, had breakfast then headed to a new town, Las Delicias. We went around the church knocking on doors. Our of the groups saw 4 Salvations! What a great way to start the morning! We then returned to have lunch and prepare for the afternoon.

In the afternoon we had all 3 ministries again. It was a great day but we expect God to move in more ways tomorrow. Please to continue to pray with us as we expect God to move in ways that we cant believe. We are praying for a strong finish we ask you pray for that too.

This evening we stayed at the church until it was time for the evening service. The church fixed us a snack. They were so sweet to us. We had the evening service, Cody and Rex shared their testimonies and Mike brought us the Word. Please pray for the rest of services we have there and that the people there come to Christ.

Thank you for your prayers. We look forward to telling you all the great things God is doing here in Peru and in our lives.

Let the blessings flow!

Today we woke up very early loaded everything up in Tito’s truck had breakfast then began our trip to Trujillo. Once we arrived in Trujillo we unloaded our things and went to church at Marco’s church. It was a great time of fellowship and worship. The whole team could feel God’s presence. Cody and Rex shared their testimonies, and Mike brought us the Message. After that we went to Tito’s house where Edith prepared a wonderful meal for us. After we ate we came back to the hotels and got ready for the ministries this afternoon.

This afternoon we went to Alto Trujillo. We were suppose to just have ladies’ ministries, and VBS. However when we arrived there were a lot of youth around so Mike and Cody split off and began to share with them. In the youth group they ask that you pray for the students to open up and not be so timid.

In the ladies’ ministry today they had an amazing day! The ladies were very welcoming to them and listened very intently to what was said. They would like you to pray that tomorrow goes even better and they have more ladies.

VBS went well we had lots of kids we taught them some new songs and we enjoyed seeing their smiling faces. They really enjoyed the crafts that they made.

We then came back to the hotel to fellowship for a little while. We then loaded up and went to have another wonderful meal at Tito’s house. After we ate we went back to Alto Trujillo to have the evening service. We were met at the door of the church with many smiling faces. It was a great time of worship. In the service tonight we had one man come forward to be saved! God is really moving in this city. We found out that this is a new church. The church that we worked in last year had to close for various reasons. Please pray for this church as they are getting started.

We had a great devotion time together and are now headed to bed so we will be ready for the amazing things God is going to do tomorrow.

Pato Pato Ganzo!

What an amazing day! We can’t even begin to explain to you all the amazing things that God is doing here.

Today we started out knocking on doors in a little town outside of Chepen where we have been having VBS and the women’s ministry. While we were knocking on doors we were inviting people to the actvities this afternoon and if they had time we would share with them about Christ. We prayed with many people who said they were believers, it was great to be able to fellowship with them. At one house where the lady wanted to hear more about why we were there we were able to share the gospel with her. I am blessed to tell you that we now have a new sister in Christ!

After that we came back to the hotel and prepared for VBS. Went to lunch, then had some time to relax. We then loaded up and split into our groups to do our afternoon ministry.

In the youth group they added even more students today. They came back with a great report! One of the girls that Pastor David, and we have been praying for accepted Christ! She has been working with us all week. That was a great blessing to our team.

In the women’s ministry today they had even women then yesterday. They were so blessed on how God supplied the supplies they needed for all the ladies. This whole week many great stories have come from the women’s ministry we look forward to telling you them.

In VBS today we double the amount of kids that we had yesterday! We shared with them the Resurrection story. It was such a blessing to us when the children started telling parts of the story to us! The kids have been such a blessing to see how they strive to learn all that we have been teaching them. During VBS we had so many women and children inside listening to the Bible story that part of our had to sit outside. We hardly had enough room to pass out the crafts. It was a problem that we didn’t mind having.

After dinner we went to church to have the evening service. We enjoyed another great night of fellowship with the church members. We all walked away encouraged. Mike brought a great message about Jonah, and how the story of Jonah has 3 stories inside of it. We are either rebels (non christians), missionaries (actively sharing about Christ), ashamed (Christians but afraid to share). We then spent time praying over the church members.

After a great devotation time we are now packing our luggage. We leave very early in the morning to travel to another city. Please continue to pray for us that we have safe travels, unity, and the God continues to speaks to us as well as the people we come in contact with.

All of us are doing well and having a great time and God is teaching us so much. Thank you for being a part of our trip.

PS          Sorry we have not posted any pictures. We are having problems getting them to load. We are working on trying to figure out the problem.

Another great day in Chepen!

Hola Todos!

Today was another amazing day. In the morning we split into two groups to do visitation. Both groups went and visited people that haven’t been to the church in awhile, or they don’t always come on a consistent basis. Cody, Skip, Rex, Mike, Margaret, Marco and a few church members went and visited a house of one of the church members, however her husband and daughter are not believers. The group was able to sit down with them and share with them the plan of salvation. He was very attentive and asked a lot of questions, he said he will come to the service tonight. Please pray for him that he will respond to the Lord’s calling. The group also went to another house where the wife and son attend the church when they can however the husband tries to keep them from going.

The other group Jase, Jana, Caleb, Gerri, David and a church member went and visited a few church members. One place we went the lady there prepares food for anywhere from 70-100 people. The food she prepares is given to her, to help people that are very poor. We were able to talk to a few of them. The other houses were church members that were all believers, we prayed over them and helped encourage them.

After that we had lunch came back to the hotel where we finished getting supplies ready for this afternoon.  We split into groups like yesterday. Today thegroup working with the youth had an ice cream fellowship, they talked how to have a Godly dating relationship, and how to share Christ with their friends. The group would really like for you to pray that the youth have boldness to share. Most of the people in the church are new believers and pray for Pastor David as he works on discipling them.

In the women’s ministry they shared the plan of Salvation with them. They made necklaces which would help them be able to share Christ with their friends. Today in the ladies’ ministry they had more women come to Christ! They had a great time and the ladies really enjoyed it.

In VBS today we played soccer with the kids again. We were able to revenge our horrible loss, thanks to one of the ladies in the church! Tomorrow will be the grand championship. In VBS today we almost doubled the amount of kids that we had yesterday. Caleb shared the Creation story with the children a taught the children that Jesus loves them and has a plan for them.

We are now having a little down time before the service tonight. Please pray for the services that God moves and that everyone walks away changed. Pray for salvation to come to Chepen. For the Christians to grow deeper. We look forward to telling you about the amazing things God is going to do.

Let the fun begin!

Good evening! Sorry we have not been able to post post sooner. We have been very busy! After the last post we traveled on a bus for 10 hours and arrived in Trujillo. On the bus ride Cody, and Jase began to talk to a lady sitting next to them. Soon many of us were talking to her. She didnt speak hardly and english, us hardly any spanish. However we began to start a relationship with her. By the end of the bus ride we had a new sister in Christ! What a way to start out! We then arrived in Trujillo, and traveled to a hotel to stay the night. We got things ready for VBS for the following day ate pizza, and had a wonderful devotional time where we bonded. Then got some much needed rest.

Today we woke up loaded everything up went to Tito´s house and had a wonderful breakfast. We then climbed in a van and came to Chepen. This was a great bonding experience for the team. We played Slug Bug, and learned more about eachother.  After we arrived in Chepen we had a wonderful lunch came back to the hotel and finished preparing for the afternoon. We split into two groups one went to the church here in Chepen to teach youth. The rest of the group went to a town just outside of Chepen to have VBS, and women´s ministry.

The group that worked with the youth had a great day. They began to establish a relationship with them, by playing games and having them ask them questions they had about living a Godly life! The team came back very excited about how God moved.

The other group that went and worked VBS and Women´s ministry. Those groups also had a geat day. We were able to establish a relationship with the ladies and the Children. As we shared with the children you could see their hearts change as they were told God is always with them.  In the ladies ministry they had a great time singing and sharing with the ladies. After that they stayed and listened to the Children´s story as well. It was great to see how open their hearts are to hearing God´s Word.

We then loaded back up and came to the hotel to prepare for the rest of the week. Went and had more great food, and went to the church for the service.

At the service it was great to worship together with a body of believers. No matter what language we speak God hears us and that was clearing felt tonight. What an amazing God we serve! Cody and Rex shared their testimonies and Mike taught about the paralized man, and the 4 friends that brought him to see Jesus. He explained how we are two sets of people either needing Christ or needing to be tell people about Christ.

We then closed the day by having a group devonational.

It was a great day and God is already moving . Please continue to pray for us and for the people we are going to come in contact with, unity, and safety.

Peru Team

We Arrived!

Good morning all. We have arrived in Lima. We arrived at a little after midnight.  According to Jase we arrived in Africa! All of our luggage arrived safely. Today we are about to have breakfast then go to the bus station and start our long  journey to Trujillo. We should be able to post later today. Thank you for all your prayers and support so far. You prayers have greatly been felt, please continue to pray for us and that God continues to move through us. For safety and for the people we are going to come in contact with.
