Wow! our last day in Viru was outstanding. There were more than twice the number of children in VBS. We were even able to have a Youth service and God blessed everything with many salvations. The crowds poured in for the evening crusade meeting. So, we moved into the plaza for the service. It was great to see many men in attendance in addition to many ladies and children. We had prayed the night before for more men to come. In spite of the noise and distractions the people were very attentive as they were so hungry to hear the truth that could set them free. The bondage drama portrays the freedom that can be obtained after being freed from the entrapments of sin in our world. God worked in the hearts of many people as they surrendered their lives to Him. To God be the glory. The church has already outgrown its meeting place in someone’s home.
Right now we are having our last meal at Tito and Edith´s house before heading to the airport in Trujillo. Pray for our safe travels and for the new believers to become strongly rooted in God´s Word. Thank you once again for your prayers and strong support for this mission. May God continue to be glorified.

YESTERDAY WAS OUR FIRST DAY IN VIRU. IT WAS IN A SMALL VILLAGE ABOUT AN HOUR SOUTH OF TRUJILLO. AT FIRST THE PEOPLE WERE VERY SHY BUT IT DIDN´T TAKE LONG BEFORE THE CHILDREN WARMED UP AND HAD A LOT OF FUN PLAYING SOCCER AND THEN DURING VBS. THERE WERE SO MANY CHILDREN WE WENT A COUPLE OF BLOCKS AWAY AND HAD THE VBS OUTSIDE IN THE PARK TYPE AREA. THE LADIES MET IN THE CHURCH AND SEVERAL GAVE THEIR HEARTS TO THE LORD.
THERE IS A LITTLE 3 YR OLD BOY, JEFFREY, WHO HAD A STROKE AND IS NOW CRIPPLED IN HIS RIGHT LEG AND ARM. WE CARRIED HIM HOME FROM THE VBS AND GOT TO PRAY OVER HIM WITH HIS FAMILY. PLEASE PRAY FOR HIM. HE NEEDS TO HAVE AN MRI AND THERAPY BUT THEY DON´T HAVE THE $400.00 NEEDED FOR THAT. HE IS SUCH A SWEETHEART, GOD´S PRECIOUS CHILD.
REMEMBER OUR BUS DRIVER MARTHA? SHE HAS BEEN HELPING US ALL OF THE TIME DOING MINISTRY NOW AND HER FACE IS ALL AGLOW. LAST NIGHT WE HAD OVER 18 SALVATIONS IN THE CRUSADE. PLEASE PRAY THAT TODAY WE CAN CONTINUE TO SHARE THE LIGHT IN VIRU AND MORE PEOPLE WILL COME TO KNOW THE LORD.
WE ARE ALL FINE AND JOY-FILLED. PRAY FOR SAFE TRAVELS AS WE WILL BE RETURNING FRIDAY AROUND 10 AM. THANK YOU, WE LOVE YOU.

SUNDAY MORNING WE GOT TO WORSHIP IN MARCO´S CHURCH, DID THE DRAMA, SANG AND TESTIFIED. WE INVITED OUR BUS DRIVER, MARTHA. SHE ABSORBED IT ALL. THEN WE INVITED HER TO LUNCH WITH US. WHEN WE GOT TO THE MISSION CHURCH IN TRUJILLO WE INVITED HER TO JOIN IN THE LADIES’ BIBLE STUDY. ALONG WITH SEVERAL LADIES, MARTHA GAVE HER HEART TO JESUS. THE CHURCH JUST STARTED IN FEB. BUT THE NEW BELIEVERS THERE WERE VERY WELCOMING. THEY MEET IN A MAKESHIFT TENT PORTION OF SOMEONE´S HOME. THE SPIRIT WAS GREATLY MOVING AS WE SHARED GOD´S WORD IN VBS, LADIES’ BIBLE STUDY AND CRUSADE.
BY THE SECOND DAY THE NUMBER OF CHILDREN HAD TRIPLED (OR MORE) AND THE LADIES AS WELL. WE GOT TO VISIT DOOR TO DOOR AND IN THE MARKET PLACE WHERE 7 PEOPLE WERE SAVED AS WELL AS MANY GREAT CONTACTS MADE FOR THE CHURCH AND WE PRAYED WITH MANY PEOPLE IN THEIR HOMES. PASTOR ELVIS IS DOING A WONDERFUL JOB AND HE IS SO FULL OF JOY IN SERVING. WHEN WE ARRIVED AGAIN FOR THE EVENING SERVICE, THEY ALL STOOD OUTSIDE AND CLAPPED, SO ANXIOUS TO HEAR GOD´S WORD. MANY SALVATIONS RESULTED. PLEASE PRAY FOR PETER WHO IS REALLY SEEKING BUT NOT YET READY TO SURRENDER. PRAY FOR THIS NEW LITTLE MISSION TO CONTINUE TO SHINE IN THIS DARK AND POOR PLACE.
PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY. TODAY WE WILL TRAVEL ABOUT AN HOUR AWAY TO A VILLAGE IN VIRU TO SHARE GOD´S LOVE. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL OF YOUR PRAYERS. WE WILL GET MORE PICTURES POSTED WHEN WE GET MORE COMPUTER ACCESS. PRAY THAT WE CAN FINISH STRONG IN THE LORD.

Good morning from Trujillo. We had a wonderful time in Chiclayo seeing all that the Lord is doing in that place among His people and those still seeking Him. We saw people accept the Lord in the marketplace and on the streets as we shared the gospel with them. There were many, many older children who prayed to give their lives to Jesus in the VBS and many ladies in the Bible studies. The response has been great to the dramas and teachings. To God be the Glory!
The part of Chiclayo we worked in is very poor but the people were rich in love. This new mission is strongly supported by the parent church and we built many wonderful relationships there. It is so exciting to experience divine encounters where God has placed seeking people in our path so we could witness to them. Many people here are confused between religion and personal relationship with God. Pray that their eyes and hearts will be open to the truth. Please continue to pray for Chiclayo that the gospel will keep spreading and the believers will not grow weary.
Yesterday we traveled back to Trujillo, went to a mission fair at the seminary, then had some free time. We visited the Chan Chan ruins and went to the ocean at Huanchaco. It was great fun and even there we were able to bring light and hope to people. After dinner at our favorite ¨Chicken´s King¨¨ we had a great time of praise and worship as a team before settling into our new homes. Sleep was wonderful.
We will work 2 days in Trujillo and then 2 days in Viru. Everyone is healthy and doing well. We are still looking for a place where we can get our pictures put up on this website. Hopefully today. Our team is truly unified and amazed at how we have been brought together for this mission. We are truly blessed. Please keep praying for us. We appreciate it and can feel the prayers working. Thank you to those who have sent us comments of encouragement. We love you.

WE WANT TO THANK YOU FIRST OF ALL FOR YOUR PRAYERS. IT IS GREAT TO SEE GOD WORKING IN THE LIVES OF SO MANY PEOPLE. THEY ARE HUNGRY TO HEAR AND KNOW THE TRUTH. YESTERDAY MORNING WE WALKED AROUND THE BUSINESS AREAS PASSING OUT TRACTS. SO MANY PEOPLE WERE EAGER TO RECEIVE THEM AND EVEN SOUGHT US OUT TO GET THE TRACTS. WE HANDED OUT 1900 TRACTS AND WERE ABLE TO SEE SOME PEOPLE COME TO KNOW CHRIST IN THE PROCESS!
WE HAD A TREMENDOUS AMOUNT OF CHILDREN AT VBS AND IT WAS A WONDERFUL TIME. THE EVENING SERVICE WAS OUTSTANDING AS WELL. WE HAVE SEEN MANY TURN THEIR LIVES OVER TO GOD. EVERYONE IS HEALTHY AND SAFE AND HAVING A WONDERFUL TIME. WE ARE SORRY THAT WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO POST ANY PICTURES DUE TO TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES, BUT AS SOON AS WE CAN THERE WILL BE MANY. KEEP PRAYING!
Hola from Chiclayo. We arrived by bus Tuesday after a wonderful breakfast at Edith´s. The Lord provided us with a bus inspite of the transportation strike to get us to our current home at the the Tumbas Reales hotel. We got settled in, ate dinner and purchased food for Wednesday´s breakfast and lunch. After a much appreciated night of sleep we prepared our supplies for VBS and women´s Bible study. We went door-to-door inviting people to the services. When it was time for VBS the children were eagerly waiting our arrival. We had around 100 children and 10 ladies for the Bible study in this new mission. Many of the people who were helping to start the new mission were there to assist us. We had a wonderful time with all of the people loving on them and sharing the Good News. A lady named Rosa came to accept the Lord into her life in the Bible Study!
For the evening Crusade God´s power was mighty as people took in all that was shared friom God´s Word through singing praises, drama and great preaching by Mike. Pray for those who are seeking and the new believers to clearly understand more about our wonderful Savior.
Thank you for your prayers and notes of encouragement. We definitely know that your prayers are effective. Continue to pray for our safety and good health and travelling.
We are at Tito and Edith´s house. She fixed us a wonderful breakfast. Our flights went well and all of our luggage and Bibles made it just fine. We were able to hand our tracts to many interested people in the airport in Lima. We are doing well except rather sleepy. At eleven o´clock we will head for Chiclayo and get organized for VBS tomorrow and crusades. We are very excited about the opportunity to serve. Some of our team who have not been here before are amazed at the looks of this place and the differemces from home where we know we have far more than most of the world. But all that really matters is that these people find the Savior to fill their empty hearts. Pray for many opportunities to share . Thank you
